Our Favorite Physics Major takes a shot: Here's a real photo!

Update, Sunday, April 6, 2008:
In the interest of preserving what little is left of my anonymity, I have uploaded this photo to Flickr and deleted it from this post so that it is not visible to anyone walking past my computer. Here's the Son-ster's shot.

Naturally, our son was the only one who could figure out how to set the timer (and prop the camera at the correct angle using only a magazine) so that all of us could be in the picture, and the only one who could figure out how to delete all the shots that weren't up to his standards. Did I mention that he's rooming with a photography major? A college that's within hailing distance of the headquarters of Eastman Kodak tends to have photography as a major.

I'm happy to say that Our Favorite Physics Major has inherited his father's sense of direction. He got us from a tour of the so-called Migdal David (Tower of David, which is really part of a fortification that hadn't yet been built in King David's time) to the Kotel HaMaaravi (Western [Wailing] Wall) for another tour in about 10 minutes. How he was able to find his way from one end of Ir HaAtikah (the Old City) to the other after having been there only once or twice is beyond my comprehension. I was tickled pink. :)

I can't begin to tell you how glad I am that our son took that photo. Given the state of my parents' health, I don't know whether I'll ever have another opportunity.

Mark/PT: I finally decided to come about halfway out of the closet, anonymity-wise. How could I resist, after seeing all those gorgeous shots of *your* gang? :) Now, if only I could figure out how to upload our *videos* onto the Internet . . .

Z, I'm glad you enjoyed the article. Speaking of faces, is that you and your son? I just love the irony of it--on *my* blog, you're Z, with a photo of you and the kid. On *your* blog, not only is there not a photo in sight, you respond to comments as "admin." You're the only person I know who's anonymous on her own blog! :)
